From Ms. O's Desk
Dear Quetzal Families,
Spring is here, and it's feeling like summer! Incredibly enough, we are getting closer to the end of the school year, and our spring break starts this Friday. Classes will resume on April 18th. Please remember to be on time (by 8:15am) to school everyday. We are sending COVID rapid tests home this week. It is important that you test your child at home on Sunday, April 17th. We want to make sure we are all healthy and ready for the end of this year's educational journey.
State testing at Mistral will start the week of April 25th. Please support your child with positive phrases and reinforcement. This is an assessment that will help us know what are students have learned this school year, and it will also serve as a tool for next year's RTI (Response to Instruction) grouping and individualized support. It is important that we work together in encouraging our students to do their best, go to bed early, have a healthy breakfast, and show us what they know. We also need your help avoiding trips and appointments during the weeks of April 25th to May 20th. Thank you so much for all your support in ensuring we continue to provide high quality education for our students.
I am very excited to share with you our first edition of the Quetzal Chronicles! I am so proud of our students' work and Ms. Huq's guidance. Thank you to Maestra Huq and our newspaper's team! I hope you enjoy reading our first edition!
Have an excellent spring break, stay healthy, stay safe and be happy!
Ms. Olaciregui, Principal

COVID masking
Both outdoor and indoor masking is strongly recommended (but no longer required) for students and staff in our schools and offices. However, there are times that masks are still very highly recommended.
Lunch lines are open!
Multi-use rooms opened for food distribution this week as a result of loosened COVID restrictions. Students will wear masks as they pick up food indoors. Outdoor eating will continue. Please click here for a video about how the new food lines work: https://vimeo.com/694953946. Thanks in advance for your patience as we adjust to new procedures.
