MV Parent U: “Being an 'Askable Adult'--Talking to your child about sexuality” Nov. 8

Mountain View Parent U presents “Being an 'Askable Adult'--Talking to your child about sexuality” on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6:30- 8 p.m. at the Crittenden Middle School MUR.

Presented by Health Connected, a Bay Area health education leader, parents will learn the why, what, how and when of talking with your kids about sexual health. Join us for a fun and interactive workshop that will inspire and assist trusted adults to engage their children in open and honest conversation.

The session is appropriate for adults with children of any age, and definitely relevant for adults with children approaching puberty through their teen years.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Come early to connect with resources!

Provided:

  • Interpretation (Spanish support)

  • Child care

  • Transportation (Bus departs from Castro Elementary and Graham Middle at 6 p.m. and returns at 8:30 p.m.)

Chess Night

If your child is interested in Chess please join us Thursday, November 9, 6 - 7:30 pm in the MUR. We will talk about the tournament coming in the Spring and what your child can do to prepare, enjoy some refreshments, share information about apps, websites, and books, and play some chess. MVEF Monthly Board Meeting

Have your elementary students showed you a beautiful piece of art they made in their art class taught by a CSMA teacher? Sung a song their CSMA music teacher taught them? Did your middle schooler run cross country this fall or join morning  choir? These are just some of the programs made possible by your donations to the Mountain View Educational Foundation.

 

MVEF will be holding their monthly board meeting on November 14th  at Bubb School in the MUR from 7-9 pm.  Join us to learn more about the work MVEF does to support every child at every school, in Mountain View.   The board meetings are open to all, and board members will be available to answer any questions prior to the meeting between 6:30-7 pm.


 MVLA speakers series presents “Raise an Adult” author

The MVLA Parent Education Speaker Series presents ... Please join us as Julie Lythcott-Haims, author of “How to Raise an Adult,” talks about what it means to be a real American, her experiences with racism and micro-aggressions, and what we can do to foster greater understanding and compassion for individual differences in our racially and culturally diverse community. Her new memoir, “Real American,” was just released on October 3rd.

Raise funds for Graham Performing Arts' Tour

This holiday season, all children who are residents of Mountain View can put together their wish lists and letters, and send them to Santa!  In return, Santa will mail a letter back! Letters will be accepted until Friday, December 8th.  There are two easy ways for Santa to receive letters.
