Mrs. Brenda was born and raised in Puebla, Mexico. She came to California in 2007 to study a PhD in Education at Stanford University. She is very excited to start her teaching career at Gabriela Mistral because its supportive and nurturing community environment undergirds all what teachers, school staff and parents do to enhance students’ social and cognitive growth. When Mrs. Brenda is not at Mistral, she is doing research on ways to foster family engagement in their children’s education, reading books about history and science, hanging out with friends and family, or, hiking with her dog, Princess Leia.
I hope to foster a multicultural community of engaged learners in which students benefit from an inclusive and caring environment where high-quality instruction is academically challenging, culturally and linguistically responsive and targeted to their needs, interests and talents.
