Maestra Carolina

Maestra Carolina returned to Mistral in the fall of 2017 after teaching abroad at American international schools in Libya, Singapore and Spain. She was born in Jalisco, Mexico and raised in California from a very young age. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz. After graduation, she went on to teach in a dual immersion program in Watsonville, CA for 5 years. Carolina previously taught 1st grade for one year here at Mistral before moving abroad. Carolina’s international experiences allowed her to explore much of Southeast Asia and Europe. In addition to travel, she enjoys hiking, swimming, yoga and dancing. Carolina has danced Mexican Folklórico ever since she was in high school, and loves learning different dance forms such as Samba, Jazz, and even Belly Dance.
