The Dual Immersion Program at Mistral is open for enrollment in January for Kindergarten and 1st grade students from all neighborhoods in Mountain View Whisman School District (MVWSD) and subject to the district's open enrollment process for a Choice program. Currently inter-district transfers for students outside of the MVWSD into the DI Program at Mistral are not allowed.
During the enrollment process in with the district you will select Dual Immersion (DI) as your Choice program. You will also need to attend a Mandatory Information Meeting. If there are more requests for enrollment than available spots in the DI program, a lottery is performed to decide enrollment. Lottery results will likely be mailed in late February, if your child does not get a spot, they are placed on a wait list and may remain on the wait list until January of the following year. Your child will most likely be placed in your neighborhood school while you wait.
Occasionally, the district allows later admissions as well. To learn more about the MVWSD registration process visit the district website.
