After School Classes

The Mistral and Castro PTA arranges for a variety of after-school classes and clubs for students at Castro and Mistral, with a goal of having no student turned away for lack of funds. Classes run in three sessions, September-November, December-February and March-May. Information about registration is posted in the school newsletters, online and on posters around campus a few weeks before a session starts.

Want to see a new class offered? Talk with the PTA's Afterschool Program Chair and find out how you can help bring it to Castro and Mistral.

Robotics with LEGO EV3®

Build and program robots using the new LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 system! Learn about mechanical and software design, problem solving, and teamwork skills. Work in small groups, program and build your robot, and rise to the challenge. Control the robot to avoid obstacles, pick up and carry objects, and play sounds.

Stay and Play

1st - 5th grades - Thursday - 12:30 - 2:00  - meet at the Oak Tree.

 Play picnic-type games at the Castro field and in Rengstorff Park rain or shine (dress appropriately).  Meet at the Oak Tree and walk to Castro Field or Rengstorff Park.  Games include capture the flag, chaos tag, and other outside games.  We will be back at the Oak Tree at 2:00.
