Parent volunteers are organized through the PTA by the Room Parents Program. This is a parent volunteer system that supports teachers and students at the grade level and in the individual classes.
- Each Grade Level Lead Room Parent meets periodically with teachers at a grade level to determine needs and matches parent volunteers to roles for community building and field trips.
- Room parents are responsible for arranging classroom volunteers, parent communication, teacher appreciation, organizing class parties and other activities – as requested and directed by their teacher and/or Grade Level Lead.
Parents who are interested in being a room parent may indicate interest by signing up at class posting, notifying their teacher, or filling out a volunteer form.
- All parents may volunteer to assist the room parents as well as assist teachers in or outside the classroom in other ways such as accompanying classes on field trips, preparing special projects, assisting students with classroom work, etc.
